Multilingual GEO plugin: GEO Score now in 15 languages

GEO Score in 15 languages: check the AI visibility of multilingual websites – Digital Targets Blog

A multilingual GEO plugin has to check every language version with its own rules, otherwise it misjudges questions, dates and abbreviations. That is why our free WordPress plugin GEO Score is now available in 15 languages, both for the interface and for the content checks.

Key takeaways

  • GEO Score checks content in 15 languages with its own rules, and the interface is translated into the same 15 languages
  • Separate rules are needed because languages write questions, dates and abbreviations differently
  • “Check all pages” rates every language version of a WPML or Polylang website in one run
  • Staging mode checks a relaunch before go-live
  • The plugin and the online checker remain free and work without external services

Which 15 languages does GEO Score support?

GEO Score supports 15 languages, from German to Greek, Turkish and Romanian, both for the interface and for the content checks. All screens, buttons, notices, messages, the help section with FAQs and the email reports are translated. German comes in a formal and an informal version, Portuguese in a version for Portugal and one for Brazil.

The 27 checks in 6 areas stay the same in every language. What changes per language is how the plugin reads the text. All details about the plugin are on the page GEO Score – WordPress plugin.

Why does a GEO plugin need check rules per language?

Separate check rules per language are needed because questions, dates and abbreviations look different in every language. A plugin that only knows German or English patterns treats a correct Greek question heading as an error or misses the update date on a Polish page. The result would be wrong notices and a score that is too low.

Typical examples that GEO Score now recognises correctly:

  • Greek: questions end with “;” instead of a question mark. A heading such as “Τι είναι το GEO;” is therefore a question.
  • Turkish: the question particle “mi” and question words such as “ne kadar” often appear in the middle of the sentence rather than at the start.
  • Turkish: besides the dotted I (İ) there is a dotless I (ı). When comparing words, upper and lower case must therefore be converted using Turkish rules.
  • Czech and Polish: month names in dates are in the genitive case, for example “22. října 2026” or “22 października 2026”.

The rules also cover FAQ headings, abbreviations, source references, the detection of legal, guide, service, about-us and contact pages, and theme texts in the wrong language. You can read more about the answer format AI systems prefer in our guide How to become visible in ChatGPT & co.

How does GEO Score check every language version of a website?

With “Check all pages”, GEO Score rates the pages of all languages of a WPML or Polylang website in one run. Each language version is checked in its own language and receives its own score. This shows you whether, say, the French version is weaker than the German one.

For multilingual websites, the plugin also checks:

  1. whether the language versions are linked via hreflang, as described in Google’s documentation on localised versions,
  2. whether text appears in the wrong language, for example German buttons on the English page,
  3. which pages have not been translated yet,
  4. whether the llms.txt contains one block per language.

What does staging mode offer for a relaunch?

Staging mode lets you rate a blocked staging copy as if the website were already live. Staging copies are usually blocked for search engines so that they do not appear in search results. Without this mode, GEO Score would flag exactly that block, and the score would say little.

In staging mode, visitors and search engines continue to see the blocked copy. On public websites the switch has no effect. This lets you check content, structured data and llms.txt in all languages before the new website goes live. Our guide on website relaunches explains how to plan a relaunch as a whole.

What other new features does GEO Score offer?

Besides the 15 languages, GEO Score adds three everyday features: ignoring notices, “Check now” in the editor and a more robust scan.

  • Ignore notices: if a check does not fit a particular page, you hide the notice there. It no longer counts and remains visible as “ignored”.
  • “Check now” in the block editor: checks the current content with one click, including unsaved changes.
  • Robust on slow servers: the scan keeps running even with slow hosts and measures the loading time of every page.
  • Task list: export as CSV, Excel-ready in all languages, or as a file for an AI assistant.

How do we use GEO Score on our trilingual website?

We check our own website with GEO Score in German, English and French, with a website GEO Score of 99 out of 100 (as of October 2026).

Example: digital-targets.com is built with WPML. In the last full run, all 138 rated pages achieved the rating “good”, with 46 pages per language. After every new translation, we also check the English and French versions for text in the wrong language, because German leftovers in buttons or alt texts are easy to miss when translating. You can read how we rebuilt the website in our relaunch report.

How can you test a page without WordPress?

Without WordPress, use our free GEO Score Check, which also checks pages in 15 languages with their own rules. You enter the address of a page and, in around 30 seconds, receive a score from 0 to 100 based on 27 checks and the 3 most important improvements. Pages in other languages are checked with general rules.

You will find the checker at GEO Score Check. For WordPress websites, the free GEO Score plugin rates every page at once.

What will SEO GEO Suite Pro bring?

With SEO GEO Suite Pro, we are preparing an extension that adds the SEO Score and AI improvements to GEO Score. The SEO Score checks pages and category archives with 32 checks in 8 areas and works with Yoast SEO, Rank Math or SEOPress.

The AI writes suggestions for short answers, FAQs, SEO titles, meta descriptions and alt texts using your own Claude or ChatGPT account. You review every change in an approval list with before and after, before it goes live. The AI only uses facts from your page and your company details. The Pro version will also be available in 15 languages. The free version of GEO Score remains fully usable for good.

Frequently asked questions

Does GEO Score cost extra for multilingual websites?

No. GEO Score is free, including for multilingual websites with WPML or Polylang. All 27 checks, the score per language, the hreflang check, the llms.txt per language and the 15 languages for the interface and content checks are included. The plugin needs no account and no API key and sends no data to external services.

What happens to pages in other languages?

GEO Score checks pages in languages outside the 15 supported languages with general rules. The 27 checks still run, for example for structured data, heading structure and AI crawlers. Only language-dependent checks such as question headings or dates may then be less precise, because the plugin does not know the specific features of that language.

Does GEO Score work with WPML and Polylang?

Yes. GEO Score recognises the language versions of both plugins, checks each version in its own language and shows a score per language. “Check all pages” rates all languages in one run. The plugin also lists pages that have not been translated yet and finds text in the wrong language.

Where can I download GEO Score?

In October 2026, GEO Score was submitted to the WordPress.org plugin directory under the name “Digital Targets GEO Score – AI Visibility Check”, and the review is under way. Until it is approved, you can ask to be notified on the plugin page or take part as a beta tester. After that, you will find it in WordPress under Plugins → Add New.

Does a good rating guarantee mentions in ChatGPT?

No. No tool can guarantee that AI systems will name a website, because their answers change constantly. GEO Score checks the requirements AI systems prefer for citations: clear answers, verified facts, structured data and good readability for crawlers, and it does so in every language version of your website.
