GEO Score Check: How visible is your page to AI search engines?

The GEO Score Check is a free AI visibility checker that tests, without sign-up, whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews can understand and cite a web page. Enter the address and get a score from 0 to 100 with the most important improvements in about 30 seconds.

Free, without registration. We load the page once, like a visitor, and check it with the 27 rules of GEO Score.

What does the GEO Score Check test?

The GEO Score Check rates a web page with 27 checks in 6 weighted areas that add up to 100 points.

Each area stands for a requirement AI systems need before they use a page as a source. The areas and their weighting match the GEO Score WordPress plugin, so you can compare both results directly.

AreaPointsWhat is checked
GEO answer format30Short answer at the top, questions as headings, answer first under each heading, self-contained sections
Structured data20Organization, website and page in the schema, schema matching the page type, FAQPage
Facts & sources15Concrete facts and figures, sources for legal and statistical claims, visible update date
Authority15Author named and linked, consistent company and place names, legal notice and contact, linked profiles
Structure & readability10Exactly one H1, no skipped heading levels, lists or tables, short paragraphs, enough content
AI crawlability10Indexable, AI crawlers allowed in robots.txt, llms.txt, content in the HTML instead of loaded by JavaScript

How do I read the result?

A score of 90 to 100 means the page is well prepared for AI search engines.

  • 90–100 points: AI-ready, the key requirements are met
  • 70–89 points: room for improvement, some areas hold back visibility
  • below 70 points: weak, AI systems can only use the page to a limited extent

Below the score you see the points for each of the 6 areas and the 3 most important improvements. Each improvement shows how many points it adds, so you can start with the biggest lever. Open “All checks” to see the full list of 27 checks.

How is it different from the GEO Score WordPress plugin?

The online check tests a single page, while the free GEO Score WordPress plugin checks every page of a WordPress website.

Frequently asked questions about the GEO Score Check

What does GEO mean?

GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization. It means optimising content so that AI systems such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews understand it, use it as a source and mention it in their answers. This includes clear answers under every heading, facts backed by sources, structured data and a website that AI crawlers can read easily.

Is the GEO Score Check free?

Yes. The GEO Score Check is free and works without sign-up. You need neither an account nor an email address. Enter the address of a page and see the result straight away in your browser, with the score, the 6 areas, the 3 most important improvements and all 27 checks.

Does the checker work for websites without WordPress?

Yes. The online check fetches the public page and rates the HTML that AI crawlers see as well. That is why it works with any platform, for example Shopify, PrestaShop, WooCommerce or a custom-built website. The only requirement is that the page is publicly accessible.

How often can I run a check?

You can run up to 10 checks per hour. The limit protects the service from misuse and keeps the check fast for all visitors. If you want to check many pages regularly, the free GEO Score WordPress plugin is the better choice, because it rates every page of your website.

Does a high score guarantee mentions in ChatGPT?

No. The GEO Score shows whether a page meets the technical and content requirements that AI systems need to understand and cite it. Whether ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity actually mention a page also depends on the question, the competition and how well known your company is. A high score improves your chances but is no guarantee.

How do I improve my GEO Score?

Start with the 3 most important improvements in the result, because they add the most points. Common levers are a short answer directly below the H1, questions as subheadings, a visible update date, a named author and structured data. Then check the page again. Our AI visibility guide explains every step.
